Ethiopia’s First Lady inaugurates the new Gefersa hospital

The inauguration ceremony for the new mental health centre in Gefersa, Ethiopia was held on May 15, with the Health Minister and other prominent local and national authorities in attendance. The event’s patroness was Ethiopian First Lady Azeb Mesfin, former president of the National Association for Mental Health NIMHE.
The new Gefersa centre will provide physical and psychological assistance and hospitality to more than 200 people suffering from mental illness. The facility, built on an area of approximately 5,000 m2 for more than 4 million Euros, was financed and donated by Salini Costruttori as part of the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility policies.
