Luisa Todini is the new President of Costruttori Europei

27 May 2010

For the first time, a woman will be at the helm of FIEC, the European Construction Industry Federation. On Friday, May 28, in Cyprus, Luisa Todini, a member of the Board of Directors of Salini S.p.A., will take on the highest office in the Federation, which represents 29 countries and 34 organisations. The first challenge the Roman businesswoman will have to face as President will be the crisis affecting Europe, especially small enterprises, which alone account for 95 percent of the FIEC’s total membership. Luisa Todini’s programme will focus mainly on applying the EU Directive on payment delays, on promoting tools capable of ensuring a fruitful partnership between the public and private sectors, and on setting up a defence strategy to fend off competition from Chinese firms if the latter do not follow Community rules on safety and fair competition.
