08 Jun 2010

On 4 June the 2009/2010 edition of the project known as “La Talpa Salvatraffico” reached its conclusion at the base camp of the Metro B1 building-site. This educational initiative promoted by Roma Metropolitane and Salini Costruttori is aimed at the pupils in the nursery, junior and middle schools in the Municipi (districts) where there is construction work on the new underground lines. This year the project involved 36 schools and four Municipi (II, III, IV and VIII), with a total of  142 classes and 3,087 pupils. At the end of a series of guided tours to the Metro construction sites and meetings with technicians that took place throughout the school year, the participants produced and presented final projects based around the theme of the Metro B1.
During the project’s closing ceremony, the most original and brilliant pieces of work were awarded a prize. At the end of the prize-giving ceremony, the exhibition containing all the work produced by the children was officially opened.
The exhibition was open to the public on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th June 2010.
