In this year’s financial statement season the Salini Group is hitting the headlines. In fact the official league-table of general contractors published by Edilizia & Territorio shows the Group for the first time in third position among Italian companies, jumping two places above last year’s position.  The article written by Prof. Aldo Norsa , who has for some time been responsible for drawing up the league tables for the weekly magazine belonging to the Gruppo Sole 24 Ore, dedicated an in-depth article on the Salini Group to comment on the main news of the year. The move forward in the league-table is the result of the most significant integration operation among Italian general contractors in the last 12 months i.e. the purchase of a majority share in Todini Costruzioni by Salini Costruttori. With this operation the Group significantly passed the (consolidated pro-forma) mark of 1 billion euro in revenues “with an EBITDA of 12.7% compared with an average for the sector of 9.5%.” Norsa’s article concludes by saying that, “Salini and Todini will maintain their distinct brands for the moment with the challenge of launching themselves among the major European players to achieve an overall volume of 7-8 billion euros due to combined growth both at home and abroad.”
